We hope to encourage, host, assist and sponsor benefit events, creating a friendly community network for musicians, artists, dancers and sponsors of the arts of all ages.
Our Beginning
In 2009, our mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Thankfully she survived after surgery, chemo and radiation therapy. We deeply appreciate the care and support from our friends, communities and medical care team.
We started MAD4Charity to remind us of the joys of life and give thanks to the community and the world at large, recognizing the tireless and dedicated efforts of nonprofit organizations. By supporting these nonprofits, we hope to raise awareness of social justice issues and the needs of communities, and to make a positive difference, locally and globally.
Since its conception, MAD4Charity has hosted nine events and raised over $30,000. It has raised money for both local and international organizations such as Okizu (supporting families with childhood cancer), Loaves and Fishes Family Kitchen San Jose (local group that works to break the cycle of poverty), Kiva (providing micro loans to the underserved globally), Creativity Explored (supporting people with developmental disabilities in their quest to become working artists), Erika’s Lighthouse (promoting teen mental health awareness), Doctors Without Borders, Stanford Asian Liver Center, and the Nepal Youth Foundation (empowering impoverished children in Nepal through education and healthcare).
Our Mission
The goal of MAD4Charity is to support organizations combatting social inequalities and health disparities. At our events, we not only draw attention to charitable organizations, but also promote community outreach and culture with music, art, and dance.
